Spammers

Spammers, the ones who try to leave links to their “commercial” endeavours embedded in “comments’ on blogs, have become quite clever of late.  But not so clever as to evade Akismet.  I usually take a look at what’s been caught in spam now and then, as the odd bona fide comment has somehow wound up in the spam dragnet.

And that’s how I know that spammers are, at times, humourous.  Gratuitous praise for my blog aside, a case in point:

Hi,

I would like to invite you to come and try the real [scurrilous link].

You can buy some [scurrilous link], rent [scurrilous link], steal [scurrilous link], or find

you’ll find here also some good [scurrilous link]

I was amused by the overzealous overkill stating and re-stating the link to their web site, but I guffawed aloud reading the signature.  Mike Litoris?  Ha ha.  Clearly meant to imply “My Clitoris”.

Reminded me of that bit from one of the old “Porky’s” movies, where the phone prank played on the cute diner waitress entreated her to loudly announce to the diner patrons, “Has anybody seen Mike Hunt?”
