Movie Review – “A Prairie Home Companion”

As we settled in to watch “The World’s Fastest Indian” a week or so ago, we first entertained ourselves with the previews.  All three looked pretty good:

  • A Prairie Home Companion
  • Kinky Boots
  • Mrs. Henderson Presents

The next day Annie got on the library site, found they had all three and ordered them up for pick up at our local bookmobile.

I picked up the movies on Wednesday and we decided to watch one last night.

Deciding on “A Praire Home Companion” I plugged it into the laptop and we snuggled down into bed to give it a watch.

With an impressive ensemble cast I had high expectations.  But.  This movie sucked.  I think.  I don’t know.  I fell asleep less than twenty minutes into it.  Not even the comedic and slightly off-colour banter between John C. Reilly and Woody Harrelson, nor the semi-witty monologues of Kevin Kline could save this turkey.

I hope that at least one of the other two is watchable.  So far, zero for three.
